Kaiser Permanente announced a new partnership with Microsoft to test a new program expanding access to patients’ online health records. Kaiser Permanente’s My Heath Manager system, which currently provides information to more than 2 million online users, will be linked to Microsoft’s HealthVault platform. The program will initially become available to Kaiser Permanente’s 156,00 employees and if it’s successful, the program is said to expand to all 8 million members.
“As the universe of online health applications continues to grow, people will learn how technology can empower them and their trusted providers to make the most informed decisions about their health and care,” said Peter Neupert, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Health Solutions Group, in a statement.
