Earlier this month Spb announced the new the next version of it mobile backup software, Spb Backup 2.0. I’ve gotten my hands on it and have been testing it out for a while now. Like any other application Spb has produced, Spb Backup 2.0 is fast, reliable, and easy to use.
Spb Backup was first released in 2006. Since then, Spb has done their best to make it the number one Backup utility for Windows Mobile devices. The newly released version is “ twice as fast and smarter” than the previous version.
What does it do?
Spb Backup 2.0 allows you to create “reserve copies” of data stored on your Windows Mobile device. Because it backs up data into an executable file, restoring your device becomes only a few taps away.

Full Backup: A full backup, backs all your data and programs on the device. Speed will vary depending on the amount of data stored on your device. Simply choose the “Full Backup” option, give your file a name, choose your location, and hit next to backup.

Custom Backup: Spb Backup also allows you to choose the files you want to backup. You can choose to backup PIM data, Emails, My Documents, and System data by simply selecting a check box next to the item. You can also choose custom options for some items.

Scheduled Backup: Scheduled backups are easy and to the point. You can easily enable or disable scheduled backups. You can simply choose the days of the week and times for your backup. By checking a few boxes, you are given the option to automatically reset your device after a scheduled backup and it can power off the device after the reboot if you want to. You also have the option to backup only on AC power.

If you want quick info of when your last backup was and when the next one is, Spb has made it easy to view right on the Today screen.

When it comes to restoring your device, Spb maintains simplicity and allows you to either do a full restore or choose what files you want restored.

On the desktop, Spb provides Spb Backup Sync. A new feature to Spb Backup 2.0, Backup Sync allows you to sync backups you’ve made on your device and also gives you the option to make backups on your desktop.
Overall
If you have a Windows Mobile device and care about your files, then Spb Backup 2.0 is a must buy. Not only is it easy to use, but the option to backup your data automatically and sync it back to your desktop makes it stand out from other backup utilities. With this release, Spb Software House continues to build on its impressive library of applications. Spb Backup 2.0 is available for only $24.95 and upgrades are only $9.95.
