Microsoft’s Xbox 360 division in Australia have announced price cuts across all three Xbox 360 SKUs. The price cuts drop the Xbox 360 Arcade to AU$349 (from AU$399), the Pro to AU$499 (from AU$579) and the Elite to AU$649 (from AU$729). These price cuts make the Xbox 360 the cheapest next-gen console in Australia and New Zealand. All three SKUs will now become cheaper than the PS3 and the Arcade version of the Xbox 360 will become cheaper than the Wii, which sells for AU$399. We’re still waiting for our price cuts here in the U.S. as rumors suggest a $299 Xbox 360 Pro, which will make room for a 60GB Xbox 360.

now they have more of a chance of my buying one. I refuse to pay their over inflated launch prices.

Most systems, when first released, cost a lot of money because the companies producing them are losing money on every system they sell. Xbox 360 has found success and the division is actually making money now, so it makes sense to see price cuts occurring.
